Mikey Genao (guitars) would later join the band in 2004. For more than seven years in almost complete public obscurity, the members started composing rock songs in spanish, performing them late at night in Miami’s club scene for little or no pay. Not withstanding, the band never gave up. In this environment, the band would record their first album in New York City titled “Aniquila” and it’s debut in Puerto Rico was crowned by two radio hits: “Se Acabo” y “Bombón de Azúcar” which was also recorded by Ricky Martin.

For the next year and a half, after the band had relocated to Puerto Rico, La Secta presented record labels with their new single “Dame Lo Que Quieras” (ASCAP award) but none demonstrated any interest. On April 24, 2001, La Secta (adding “AllStar: officially to their name) released their second production titled “AllStar”. Four days later, the album reached the #1 sales position in Puerto Rico. Based on airplay and record sales, La Secta AllStar, would chart ten weeks in the Billboard Latin Top 50. La Secta AllStar would release their next album titled “Tunel” on July 23, 2003 (Premios tu Música, winner Best Rock Production) also debuting in the #1 sales position in Puerto Rico. This release would include even more radio hits, among them “Solo Quiero Darte Amor”, “Como No”, “Pecar Por Ti (#1)” y “Hey Corazón (#1)”. From the release of this album, La Secta AllStar would present itself in three additional concerts in the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

With their next album “Consejo” released in 2005, La Secta AllStar acheived it’s first latin platinum certification for sales in the U.S. backed by the international hit “La Locura Automática” (#1 en Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Perú, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panamá, Costa Rica, Honduras, Salvador and Nicaragua). On November 2005, the group would completely sell out the new Puerto Rico Coliseum (16,000 capacity).
